Over 50 species and 20,000 butterflies are on display at any given time.

Take in all of Florida’s beautiful and varied flora and fauna at the Fern Forest Nature Center. This 247-acre area is described as a “designated urban wilderness.” The Fern Forest Nature Center is home to more than 30 species of ferns and considered to be one of the best examples of a preserved native plant community in South Florida. There are plenty of trails that take visitors through the wetlands, butterfly gardens, open prairie, oak/cabbage palm communities, etc.
